Radio PachucoRadio Pachuco

Onstage: 12:30am

Radio Pachuco began its musical life as a classic swing and jazz band. However, influences of the 1950’s, classic film themes and current music began to inspire the band. Combining their love of old and new music, Radio Pachuco offered up “pop-swing” by remastering modern favourites into vintage style tunes which sit happily alongside jazz standards. Old and young find themselves dancing the night away in their own personal nostalgia. ”

Inspired by the internet sensation Postmodern-jukebox, Radio Pachuco have both covered and arranged a large number of modern songs in vintage swing style. The popularity of this “modern-swing” has seen the band perform at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh International Conference Centre and as the house band for the premier of Hyena at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Their lively set has something for everyone to enjoy – whether you are looking for the classics of Benny Goodman, the guitar solos of Chuck Berry or perhaps, the unlikely swing covers of a cheesy 90s favourite!

Seprona

Onstage: 10:30pm

Seprona are a 5 piece band from Liverpool. Their last two singles have propelled them on to a national scale, How Much Time was played on BBC Radio 2 several weeks running, and their latest single Slow Down was used by ITV This Morning and played to millions of people. They bring with them an arsenal of amazing songs that can take you on a voyage, ranging from strikingly splenetic delivery on their heavier tracks to chillingly haunting aura on their slower more serene tracks. The lyrics play out stories, the kind that keep you scrawling to turn the pages.

Big Black Mariah

Onstage: 9:30pm

It’s about Big Beats, Raging Riffs and Soaring Melodies.  The aim of Glasgow Band Big Black Mariah is to batter the audience into a state of sonic ecstasy. The band was formed towards the end of 2017 by Jason Good, founder and former member of Glasgow Ska legends ESPERANZA.
Whilst the live scene is saturated with nostalgia, tributes and celebrations of artists of a bygone era, and some still very much alive, Big Black Mariah have nailed their colours to the mast, delivering their own original tunes with passion and energy. Influences are pulled from everywhere and the band are loathed to even name where they come from or the genre that they are perceived to belong too. The keystone is the Rhythm section of TJ Watts(Drums) and Del Gillanders (Bass) who hold things down with a Big, Booming foundation. Guitarists; Tom Mclellan and Andy Ramsey switch and sashay, exchanging riff and lead duties with panache. Its topped off with Jason Good’s impassioned vocals, delivering stories about Terrorists, film stars, Politics and, of course, women. So now Big Black Mariah are starting the journey. A few low key gigs to break in the band and the songs went better than anyone expected.
