Stramash - Cat Named JackCat Named Jack

Onstage: 10:00pm

Cat Named Jack is a high-energy collective from Edinburgh which took root in 2013 debuting with a fully developed sound mixing soul, funk, and blues standards with inspired original numbers. Featuring the silver-toned sounds of lead vocalist Kat Loer, the band consists of nine high-octave members. The rhythmic precision of drummer and all round percussionist Callum Macleod, combined with seasoned lead/rhythm guitarist Jamie Crerar and punchy bassist Jim Strange, form a backline fully loaded with fusion points. Meanwhile, the lusty licks from Dougal Burnett (Sax), Paul Melone (Trumpet), and Iain McConachie (Trombone) in the brass section, coupled with the digital delights from Olivia Errey (Keys) provide sharp-edged grooves alongside deep layers of musical sediment. We’ve also just been joined by our newest member Claire McCarthy accompanying Kat on lead vocals and harmonies.

Red Pine Timber CompanyRed Pine Timber Co.

Onstage: 7:00pm

Formed in the summer of 2009, Red Pine Timber Co. originally set out as a ‘loose’ collective of musicians led by Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist Gavin Munro.

After a successful stream of Scottish dates, Red Pine Timber Co. has settled into a more fixed line-up, consisting of David Shaw on Upright and Electric Bass, Ivan Sveda on Drums, Dave MacFarlane on Fiddle, Katie Whittaker Vocals, Felix the SaxCat on Saxophone, Chris Marshall on Trombone and Harmonica, Aaron Brake on Guitar, Mandolin and Pedal Steel (now Album only)

Playing an eclectic mix of Americana and Country influenced originals, Red Pine Timber Co. have developed their unique sound within this genre mostly due to the inclusion of the Saxophone and Trombone within the instrumentation (yes...amazingly this mix does work). Coupled with the somewhat contrasting musical backgrounds and talents of each band member, the combination blends tastefully in supporting songwriter Munro.

Red Pine Timber Company released their critically acclaimed début album Different Lonesome on 10th March 2014, and are currently in the studio recording album number 2!
