Tweed Ceilidh Band
Tweed are an exciting ceilidh band from Inverness and Speyside, the lively ska rythms from Sam, Bluegrass fiddling from Duncan and solid bass and melody from Graeme, creates a full and powerful sound that can move anyone. The trio have played throughout the UK and Europe, whilst retaining their weekly slot in Aviemore - which has allowed them to flourish and build a great repertoire of entertaining material. Weaving together traditional ceilidh music with funk, ska and toe-tapping beats and anything in between.
Aye n Aye
Aye n Aye were formed in 2008 as part of a music degree project. We play all forms of Jamaican music from Dub to Rock-steady and have been lucky enough to play some of the biggest venues in Scotland including The Doghouse, The O2 Academy and the ABC. We have supported The Skatalites, The Beat, Talisman, Neville Staple (The Specials) as well as many of Scotland's top Ska acts including Esperanza and Big Fat Panda.
Jon Mckenzie Band
Jon Mackenzie is a singer and guitarist from Edinburgh who is getting ready to launch his first release as a solo artist. He previously played guitar in Scottish rock n roll band The Holy Ghosts, but has recently departed to focus on a different sound.
Jon has a strong foundation as a guitar player, first taking up the instrument at eight years old after seeing Chuck Berry in concert. Since then, a variety of session work, bands and solo gigs have taken him around the world with the instrument.
As 2017 begins, Jon has a fresh batch of new songs that are a completely new direction from anything he's done before. Psychedelic Scottish Folk Music is the term he has captioned for this new sound. The EP, 'Holidays on the Moon,' due for release in April embodies this new approach with finger style guitar, trippy pedal steel, upright bass and beautiful west coast harmonies.
