Glamour & the Baybes
Glamour & The Baybes are one of Edinburgh's most recognised funk & soul bands. They have held the Monday residency at the award winning Jazz Bar for over 5 years, & have played along side musicians from some of the industry's most recognised names, such as John Legend, Matt Schofield, and Snarky Puppy. Individually the members have toured the world, played at the country's most prestigious venues, and recorded & performed for TV, film and radio. They feature a full brass section, multiple male vocals & full rhythm section with an energy that grabs you by the soul & drops you on the dance floor.
Caezium formed in the early months of 2006. Throughout 2006-2009 CAEZIUM quickly became one of Edinburghs finest live acts...attracting the attention from local radio stations and the general public. The charisma and energy of front man Jody Butler caught the eye of many soon to become fans.
However, over the course of the next 5 years, the band went through multiple line ups, member changes, gig line ups, with unstoppable performances such as Studio 24. However things were not moving quite the way they should have and it was begging to take its toll on Jody. Another hiatus occurred having lost confidence in the failed line ups that continued. In this time Jody took to writing and creating studio work. He also reached out to LA publishers Urband and Lazar music publishing who relished in the song Gold Skyn and signed the band to their roster in April 2016. Having secured the track in a new MTV program scheduled to be aired in March, things have never looked better for the band, and with the new drummer and friend Tom Exton on board, the band have been revitalized. New singles coming out such as K2 and USA, are currently being worked in the studio.
The Album titled “The World is Yours” is scheduled to be released in March 2017 and spans a whole decade worth of work. The band CAEZIUM has been reborn with a new riffing force that is set to inspire the new generation, to encourage them to let go of their fear and embrace their new purpose….
The Sneaky Russians
The Sneaky Russians formed several years ago, predominantly from Coatbridge, Glasgow, and consisting of a line up that has shifted once or twice and currently stands at Colin Frame packing the vocal punch, Willie McGhee and Charlie Villamuera chopping out venomous snakebite riffs on their guitars, and Stephen Stobbs and William Lennox providing throbbing, funky bass and pounding old school drumbeats respectively. Their sound is an alloying of whiskey-drenched indie-blues saturated with the spirit of and set alight with the flaming fuel of punk-edged rock music. With music that encapsulates in its own way, everything from The Clash to Jimi Hendrix, from Led Zep to Nirvana, to post-punk, bluesy ditties, catchy hooks, pop, rock, good lyricism, even a slight and subtle ska influence in parts, and with an impacting onstage presence. If you like your music, loud fast and hard The Sneaky Russians should be on your to-do list.
Journey North are a five piece rock band from Tayside and Fife, Scotland. Drawing on their wide variety of musical backgrounds they combine the storytelling traditions of Scottish music with the dynamics of a rock band. Formed in late 2015 they released their debut album "The Calm before the Storm" in April 2016. Tracks from the album received airplay on a number of radio stations in the UK and overseas. A personnel change saw the introduction of bagpipes to their sound and they returned to the studio to record the acoustic based "Calm Sessions" album. This album reworked some tracks from their debut alongside two new songs. Playing live is what the band love to do most of all. They are rapidly gaining a reputation for their dynamic performances and their near telepathic interplay means every gig brings something new. The band are currently putting the finishing touches to their third album which is set for release in May 2017.
