DAS CONTRAS played hundreds of concerts and festivals from Auld Reekie to New York. Live highlights include shows with Ozomatli, Acoustic Ladyland, Terry Callier, Marlena Shaw & Candi Staton and festivals in the US & Europe. After years of solid gigging and touring, Das Contras debut album was released in Spring 2010. Das Contras 2nd album Highest Low was released in December 2012 and won Album of the Year at Scottish Jazz Awards 2013.
Journey North are a five piece rock band from Tayside and Fife, Scotland. Drawing on their wide variety of musical backgrounds they combine the storytelling traditions of Scottish music with the dynamics of a rock band. Formed in late 2015 they released their debut album "The Calm before the Storm" in April 2016. Tracks from the album received airplay on a number of radio stations in the UK and overseas. A personnel change saw the introduction of bagpipes to their sound and they returned to the studio to record the acoustic based "Calm Sessions" album. This album reworked some tracks from their debut alongside two new songs. Playing live is what the band love to do most of all. They are rapidly gaining a reputation for their dynamic performances and their near telepathic interplay means every gig brings something new. The band are currently putting the finishing touches to their third album which is set for release in May 2017.
